Why do you need a catch can?
A catch can is used to improve engine efficiency and reliability by managing crankcase blow-by gases.
From the factory, the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) system routes oil vapors and combustion gases back into the intake to reduce emissions. While this works for stock engines, it can become a problem in performance or high-mileage applications.
Under increased boost, higher RPM, or engine wear, more blow-by occurs. This pushes oil vapor and fuel contaminants into the intake system. Over time, this can:
- Coat intake valves and sensors with oil residue
- Reduce effective octane by contaminating the air-fuel mixture
- Increase the risk of pre-detonation (knock), especially on aggressive tunes like E85
- Contribute to sludge buildup in the intake tract
A catch can is installed in-line with the PCV system to separate oil mist and contaminants from the air before they reach the intake. It collects these vapors in a sealed reservoir instead of allowing them to recirculate.
The result is:
- Cleaner intake system
- More consistent combustion
- Reduced knock risk
- Improved long-term engine health
Why ours vs the others on the market?
Most catch cans are designed for simple street use—but that’s not how a UTV is used.
We specifically chose not to recirculate oil back into the engine, and for good reason. The crankcase vent system on high-performance and off-road engines carries fuel vapor, moisture, and oil mist. When recirculated, those contaminants go right back into your oil system.
We’ve actually had oil analysis performed on recirculating setups, and the results showed significant fuel and water contamination—something we consider unsafe for long-term engine health.
That’s why we engineered our system differently.
Our goal was to create a catch can that:
✔ Handles proper vent flow for high boost and aggressive off-road use
✔ Fully separates oil and water vapor instead of reintroducing it into the engine
✔Eliminates the common issue found with generic systems: oil blowout and messy engine bays
Most “universal” catch cans work in theory—but in real off-road conditions, they fail. Hard hits, whoops, and sustained high RPM cause oil to pass through or blow out of poorly designed cans. We fixed that.
Our Multi-Chambered, fully baffled design is built specifically for UTV abuse. It contains oil properly, maintains airflow under high load, and is engineered to stay clean even in the roughest conditions.
